SIS Global Election Tracker

Between 2023 and 2025, more than half of the world’s population will have gone to the polls,ushering in a new era of global political change.These elections are critical to understanding the global dynamics of democratic progressversusbacksliding, predicting implications for global security and regional economic growth, and tracking impacts on human rights and representation. And beyond the "local is global"impacts, "local"is also personal to our SIS community: SIS has students, alumni, staff, and faculty from around the world. We recognize and seek to understand the meaning of national elections to each country’s residents and communities.

At SIS, our scholars also possess a deep well of expertise on the politics and the contexts of countries around the world. Enter ourGlobal Elections Initiative. We're embarking on a project to promote discussions;stage events;create web content;and generally, keep our focus on key national elections around the world and dive deeper into the trends, opportunities, and challenges they reflect.We’ve established the SIS Global Elections Tracker as aresource for keeping apprised of politics at the national level—to promote active engagement and analysis.
