With the diverse range of opportunities in government, non-profit organizations, and businesses here in DC, you canÌýfind an organization in your field of interest. Gaining this experience as a first-year student will help you better determine a course of study, leading to your future career.

Cornerstone DC is not a placement program, so you are not automatically placed in an internship. Instead, you receive hands-on support from Cornerstone staff to give you the best chance to secure one by the time the spring semester begins.

Benefits of Cornerstone DC

• Â鶹Æƽâ°æ Cornerstone is the only program for Â鶹Æƽâ°æ first year students that provides multiple staff members that provide wrap around support to help students apply for and secure an internship. You will be guided by the mentorship of experienced Â鶹Æƽâ°æ staff and professors.

• You will earn 3 credits toward your Â鶹Æƽâ°æ degree during the spring semester by taking the Cornerstone Practicum course. As a part of the your first-year at Â鶹Æƽâ°æ, you will also take and satisfy Â鶹Æƽâ°æ Core and major required courses, putting you on track to graduate on time.

• You will enjoy the University College LLC and Cornerstone only events, designed to help you navigate DC and your overall college experience at Â鶹Æƽâ°æ.Ìý

• Through our partnership with University College (UC), students willÌýjoin Â鶹Æƽâ°æ's largest living-learning community.Ìý
